 | Tapestry Health’s Mobile Health Initiative program aims to provide free HIV testing and counseling on Tapestry Health’s mobile van. Tapestry Health is committed to providing access to HIV testing for all those who want it; the Mobile Health Initiative makes this possible with the use of a large Winnebago with private counseling rooms. Tapestry is able to take the Winnebago to streets and neighborhoods in Springfield and Holyoke where injection drug use and HIV rates are high among the population in order to provide HIV testing. The Mobile Health Initiative is a vital part of Tapestry’s mission to provide affordable and accessible health care because it allows us to provide HIV testing and outreach to the populations most at risk of becoming infected with HIV. The Winnebago permits Tapestry to provide a portable clinic for all those who cannot make it to our sites and offices otherwise, creating awareness, accessibility, and education for targeted populations. The Mobile Health Initiative program does not just target areas of high injection drug use and HIV rates, but also allows Tapestry Health to carry out many HIV and STI testing days on college campuses across Western Massachusetts. Tapestry is eager and excited to hit the streets and campuses of Western Massachusetts to raise awareness of the importance of getting tested, educate people about HIV, and provide free and confidential HIV testing and counseling. | |
