The Men's Health Project (MHP) is a prevention and education program dedicated to the reproductive and sexual health of men in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties. MHP offers educational workshops, social community building groups, and support.
MHP also provides:
- Free and anonymous HIV testing and counseling
- STI screening and referral for treatment
- Free condoms, lube, and other safer-sex supplies
- Group and individual counseling on HIV, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual decision making
- Free hepatitis A and B vaccinations

Popular Opinion Leader (POL):
A community HIV/AIDS Risk Reduction Program for Gay Men.
Popular Opinion Leader (POL) is an intervention based on a program that identifies, trains, and enlists the help of key opinion leaders to change risky sexual norms and behaviors in the gay community. A cadre of trusted, well-liked men who frequent gay bars are trained to endorse safer sexual behaviors in casual, one-on-one conversations with peers at the bars and other settings. During the conversations the "popular opinion leader" corrects misperceptions, discusses the importance of HIV prevention, describes strategies he uses to reduce his own risk (e.g., keeping condoms nearby, avoiding sex when intoxicated, resisting coercion for unsafe sex), and recommends that the peer adopt safer sex behaviors.
